Bernice A. King, the youngest daughter of Coretta Scott King and the late Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., is an acclaimed speaker and Chief Executive Officer of The King Center, which was founded by her mother in 1968.

Event Details

King earned her bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Spelman College and master of divinity and doctor of law degrees from Emory University. She has also received an honorary doctorate of divinity degree from Wesley College. Her many accomplishments include establishing the Be a King Scholarship in honor of Coretta Scott King at Spelman College in 2007; launching the 100 Days of Nonviolence campaign at Coretta Scott King Young Women’s Leadership Academy; and spearheading the global commemoration of the fiftieth anniversary of the March on Washington and her father’s famous “I Have A Dream” speech on August 28, 2013, in Washington, DC, an event which included President Obama and former Presidents Clinton and Carter as well as many other international leaders, dignitaries, and entertainers. Her book Hard Questions, Heart Answers is a collection of her sermons and speeches.
