Winchester Unitarian Society brings its 2022-2023 concert season to a rousing close with a performance by rhythm and blues, jazz, and folk rock artists Kemp Harris and his band.

Event Details

Harris (on vocals and piano) will be joined by percussionist Jim Lucchese, bassist Brian Verrochi, saxophonist Mike Caglianone, and Adam Osgood on harmonica. The concert will be performed before an in-person audience in the Winchester Unitarian Society sanctuary, 478 Main Street, Winchester, Friday, March 31st at 8:00 pm. It will also be live streamed.
One of Boston's most treasured and multi-talented performers, Kemp Harris is a singer, songwriter, keyboardist, and master weaver of American music styles. He's also an actor, storyteller, and award-winning educator who taught in public schools for over 40 years. Kemp has numerous film and television credits and has shared the stage with artists such as Taj Mahal, Gil Scott-Heron, and Koko Taylor, as well as with his band.
Percussionist Jim Lucchese has performed with Kemp and his band for over 25 years. He went to Berklee College of Music, where he studied with acclaimed jazz drummer and teacher Bob Gullotti. Bass player Brian Verrochi formally studied and performed music throughout his secondary school education. He attended Berklee College of Music, where he studied upright bass, jazz harmony, and music theory. Saxophonist Mike Caglianone ran a recording studio, where he met Kemp and bandmates Lucchese, Verrochi, and Osgood. In addition to performing with Kemp and his band, Caglianone plays with several groups in the Evil Clown Records family. He currently teaches woodwind and brass at Thayer Academy. Harmonicist Adam Osgood draws from Blues music and Beat poetry and is skilled in music traditions ranging from folk to funk. He has collaborated with Kemp Harris for over 35 years.
Suggested donations at the door are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors, and $5 for students. Masks are optional. The venue is handicapped accessible, and street parking is available.
