Event Details
Grammy-winning Rhiannon Giddens and Italian pianist and percussionist Francesco Turrisi embark on a musical voyage of discovery from Africa and the Middle East to Europe and the Americas. The duo discovered a shared creative ground after their paths crossed a few years back. Her 19th century American minstrel banjo tunes and his traditional Sicilian tamburello (tambourine) rhythms fit naturally together, spanning gospel, jazz, blues, country, and folk. They will be backed by Jason Sypher on bass.
