Description

Join us for a one-night-only screening of the astonishing story of Yayoi Kusama and how she became one of the top-selling female visual artists today.

Event Details

Yayoi Kusama overcame impossible odds to bring her radical artistic vision to the world stage: a dysfunctional family, sexism and racism in the art world, and the turmoil of mental illness. In spite of it all, she has persevered, creating a legacy of groundbreaking artwork for over six decades. Now, record numbers of selfie-takers and social media influencers experience her iconic Infinity Mirror Rooms even as she continues making new work daily at the age of 90.

Featuring introduction by and Q&A with Reto Thüring, Beal Family Chair of the Department of Contemporary Art at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.

Advance registration begins for September 11, 2019 9:00 am for the general public (September 9, 2019 9:00 am for members).
