The Newsfeed Café opened in the summer of 2016 as part of Boston’s Central Library’s renovation of the Johnson building. The Café is one of downtown Boston’s most exciting Epicurean destinations – from it’s dramatic location within the BPL, to it’s up-to-the minute content & entertainment partnership with WGBH, to it’s delectable menu offerings throughout the day. The Newsfeed Café is located at the heart of downtown Boston on the corner of Boylston and Exeter streets. Hundreds of people enjoy the cafe's offerings daily – from commuters seeking their morning coffee and a breakfast sandwich, to local professionals hoping for a fresh & savory lunch and respite, or the after-work crowd looking to share a drink and a bite to eat with co-workers. The Newsfeed Café is operated by The Catered Affair, a Boston-area based culinary, event, and hospitality authority. Since it’s humble beginnings as a small catering operation, TCA has grown over the past 40 years to manage the culinary operations for some of Boston’s most recognizable events and institutions and has now expanded into operating noteworthy restaurants, cafes, and inns throughout Greater Boston. The Newsfeed café serves as a natural extension of the Central library with a WGBH satellite studio that features important programming for Boston’s community and enough seating to accommodate over 200 people – plenty of space to share a meal and ideas.
